MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bowdoin women’s tennis team had a split NESCAC weekend with a clean 7-0 win at Trinity and tough 5-2 setback at Tufts.
The Polar Bears are 8-6 overall with a 5-2 NESCAC record heading into the final weekend of regular season action.
Trinity Match Highlights
- Zoe Sun and Bella Hartung did not drop a game at #1 singles.
- Suzanne Pogorelec and Cara Hung (#2) posted an identical 6-1 score to Naomi Williams and Caroline Stuhlfaut at #3.
- Bowdoin breezed through singles with straight set wins down the line.
- Hung won at #1 (6-0, 6-2) and Sun went 6-1, 6-3 at #2.
- Willow Assante-LaBash and Lila Moldenhauer both went 6-2, 6-2 at #4 and #6 respectively.
- Marie Frati only dropped one game per set at #5.
- Stuhlfaut won at #3 6-3, 6-3.
Tufts Match Highlights
- Hung and Pogorelec were the lone doubles pairing to win, cruising 6-0 at #2.
- Pogorelec’s strong day continued with a three-set win at #2 singles (6-2, 2-6, 6-4).
- Sun won at #4 singles in a back and forth match. Sun battled back from a tiebreaker loss in set one (6-7, 7-5, 1-0). The third was won 11-9.
