Husson Avenges Previous Loss In 11-4 Win Over Bowdoin

BANGOR, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team fell 11-4 on Tuesday night against Husson.

The Polar Bears (13-17) split the season series with Husson (11-15) after defeating the Eagles 15-2 at home on April 7.

Game Highlights

  • Matt Holmes tripled in the first inning and scored on an error to give Husson a 2-0 lead right off the bat.
  • Three singles and a Holmes double in the fourth made it 9-0 before Bowdoin got on the board in the sixth.
  • Cal Thompson broke through with a two-run single up the middle.
  • The Eagles answered with a matching number of runs in the bottom half of the inning.
  • Bowdoin mounted a small rally in the top of the ninth. Conor Moriarty drove in one run with a sacrifice fly to right and Robbie Perlman and a fielder’s choice RBI to shortstop.
  • Thompson was the lone Polar Bear with a multi-hit day.
  • Bowdoin threw eight pitchers in the game. Conor GavinBraeden Hurley, and Hugh Devine all struck out two batters. Liam Childs and Rudy Gately each fanned three.
