MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The second-seeded Bowdoin College men’s tennis team easily dispatched seventh-seeded Colby in the opening round of the NESCAC Championship Friday afternoon at Wesleyan University. The Polar Bears (16-3) move on to the semifinal round and a clash with third-seeded Middlebury on Saturday.
Match Highlights
- Bowdoin quickly took a 1-0 lead with a pair of shutout doubles wins at number one from Mark Kneiss/Jackson Codd (6-0) and at number two from Kiran Garapati/Simon Catanzaro (6-0).
- In singles action, the Polar Bears clinched it with straight-set wins from Catanzaro (6-1, 6-2) and Andrew Mendelson (6-2, 6-3) while Garapati rallied to earn a win at number two (4-6, 6-3, 6-1).
