Bath, Maine – Pine Tree Society has been selected as a major beneficiary of the 2026 Maine Community Bank Maine Marathon. This prestigious recognition comes during Pine Tree Society’s 90th anniversary year, celebrating nearly a century of providing essential, barrier-free support and innovative services to the Maine disability community.
On Sunday, October 4, thousands of runners will hit the pavement, ultimately resulting in a $20,000 donation to support Pine Tree Society’s mission. Since 1936, Pine Tree Society has been a leader in helping Maine children and adults with disabilities reach their full potential—from the barrier-free fun of Pine Tree Camp to innovative communication and personalized support services.
“We are incredibly honored to be selected during our 90th anniversary year,” says Adria King, Chief Development Officer. “This generous gift from the Maine Marathon directly impacts our ability to ensure that every Mainer, regardless of ability, can lead a life that is socially connected and full of opportunity.”
Organized by the Maine Track Club, the Maine Marathon is a volunteer-driven event that has raised nearly $9 million for local charities since 1997.
