BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women’s tennis team posted split results over the weekend following a 7-0 win over Connecticut College and 5-2 loss to Wesleyan.
The Polar Bears are 7-5 with a 4-1 NESCAC record.
Connecticut College Match Highlights
- Bowdoin cruised through doubles to take the first point of the match. Suzanne Pogorelec and Cara Hung played at #2 and Naomi Williams played with Caroline Stuhlfaut at #3. Both pairings won 6-0. Bella Hartung and Zoe Sun won 6-2 at #1.
- The Polar Bears breezed through singles.
- Hung went 6-2, 6-2 at #1 and Pogorelec went 6-1, 6-0 at #2.
- Bella Hartung and Julia Ross posted inverse scores (6-1, 6-0) and (6-0, 6-1) ant #3 and #4.
- Willow Assante-LaBash won 6-1, 6-1 at #5 and Marie Frati went 6-3, 6-2 at #6.
Wesleyan Match Highlights
- Bowdoin opened the matching by winning two out of three doubles matches to earn a team point. Zoe Sun and Hartung wont 6-3 at the top spot. Hung and Pogorelec wend 6-2 at #2.
- Five out of six singles matches were decided in three sets.
- The only Bowdoin player to come out on top in a deciding third set was Hung who ultimately won 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 at #1.
- Both Pogorelec and Ross fell in third set tie-breakers.
