Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Second-Ranked Wesleyan

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Wesleyan University women’s lacrosse team remained unbeaten with a 14-9 win over Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. The second-ranked Cardinals improve to 6-0 (3-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 2-4 (0-4 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

  • Two goals by Miya Imaeda gave Bowdoin a 3-2 lead after one quarter of play and still held a 5-4 edge with under eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.
  • The Cardinals scored three straight goals before halftime to take a 7-5 edge at the break.
  • After Grace Schorr closed the gap to 7-6 out of halftime for Bowdoin, Wesleyan rolled off a 4-1 surge that increased their lead to 11-7 early in the final period.
  • Bowdoin was able to get one back from Mara Muse with 10:13 to go, but the Cardinals ended the game on a 3-1 run to seal the victory.
