AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College women’s lacrosse team pulled away in the second half to defeat Bowdoin 16-6 on Saturday afternoon. The Mammoths improve to 8-0 (4-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 3-5 (0-5 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin led 2-1 in the opening quarter thanks to early goals from Annie Bermingham and Mara Muse, and were still deadlocked 2-2 heading into the second quarter.
- Emily Peterson scored three straight goals to give Amherst the lead for good, sparking a 7-1 run that gave the hosts an 8-3 edge at the break.
- Bowdoin cut the lead to 8-4 out of halftime thanks to an Ellie Fabbro goal, but the Mammoths replied with four straight to put the game out of reach.
