WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Bowdoin College volleyball team fell in four sets to Williams to complete a road weekend on Saturday. The Polar Bears (8-6, 2-2 NESCAC) won the third set 25-22 but dropped sets one (25-21), two (25-23) and four (25-16) to the Ephs (10-4, 3-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- The two teams battled in the opening set with neither team earning more than a three-point edge until the Ephs got ahead 23-20 before finishing the set 25-21.
- Bowdoin trailed by seven points at the 19-12 mark of the second set before another tightly contested loss 25-23.
- The Polar Bears broke through in the third set, scoring nine of the final 10 points for the 25-22 decision. The Ephs answered with authority in the fourth set behind an 11-2 run to take a 20-13 advantage before an eventual 25-16 victory.
By The Numbers
- Skye LaMendola led the attack with 12 kills, now three away from 1,000 career kills as a Polar Bear, as Zoe Ryu added 10 and Tamara Gisiger chipped in nine.
- First year Molly Dunn recorded a career-high 24 assists while Cameron Shelly also reached double-figure dimes with 13.
- LaMendola led a trio of Polar Bears in double-digit digs with 17. Anna Yeh and Ryu added 13, respectively.
