Men’s Lactosse Dismisses Scranton in NCAA Opener

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team used a stifling defensive effort in a 16-6 win over Scranton in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday at Whittier Field. The Polar Bears improve to 17-1 while the Royals end their year with a mark of 14-7.

The Polar Bears advance to the Third Round of the tournament on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. against the winner of Amherst and Stevens.

  • Bowdoin found its footing with a Bez Mendelsohn goal late in the first quarter, scoring four times in the final 2:38 to take a 5-2 lead on a Brooks Kitchel goal just before the break.
