Littles in Big Brothers Big Sisters program to participate in special demo
BRUNSWICK, ME — As part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick (BBBS B/B) program, students from Fisher Mitchell Elementary School will take part in a hands-on drone exhibition and training session on Tuesday, February 10, from 3:00–4:30 p.m. at Hyde School in Bath.
The event will be led by Scott Buel, founder of Drone Legends and a former Hyde School student, who is returning to Maine to share his experience and passion for drone technology. The interactive session will introduce students to drone flight, build confidence, and spark interest in STEM learning and career pathways.
BBBS B/B partners with Hyde School to match Hyde high school students (“Bigs”) with Fisher Mitchell students (“Littles”). The mentoring pairs meet weekly at Hyde School, fostering supportive relationships that encourage personal growth, confidence, and academic engagement for both mentors and mentees.
Buel credits Hyde School with helping him discover his potential after struggling in traditional school settings earlier in life. Through Drone Legends, he now aims to inspire the next generation of students—including Hyde students and their Littles—by sharing his story and exposing them to emerging technology.
