WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men’s swimming and diving team concluded the regular season with a third-place finish at the CBB Meet over the weekend.
The Polar Bears concluded the meet with 550.5 total points. The Bobcats won the meet and Colby placed middle of the pack.
Meet Highlights
- No Polar Bear took home a top finish at the CBB, but multiple performances put Bowdoin in the top-three.
- Jack Tran, Amadou Sall, Gaffney McDonough, and Raphael Grand’Pierre combined to open the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.28. Tran broke the school record in the 50 backstroke in the opening leg of the medley, swimming a 22.37.
- Owen Weller took an individual third in the 100 backstroke (52.14) and second in the 200 (1:55.11.)
- Tran posted a second-place finish in the 50 free with a 20.49.
- Chase Shapiro podiumed in a pair of distance races. Shapiro finished third in the 500 free (4:43.87) and second in the 1000 (9:45.96). Teammate Phil Bianco was third in the 1000 with a 9:56.88.
- Grand’Pierre secured a runner-up finish in the 100 fly (50.11).
- Bowdoin closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay. Grand’Pierre, Micah Sher, McDonough, and Tran combined for a 1:21.76.

The Polar Bears are off until the NESCAC Championship, starting February 19, at Colby.
