Davis Fund Announces 2026-2027 Grant Application Season

Applications for funding for 2026-27 projects from the Nathaniel Davis Fund are now
available for projects that will serve the people of Brunswick. Established in 1932 by
Samuel Gross Davis in memory of his father, Nathaniel, the Fund provides grants that will
“be used for the pleasure of the inhabitants of Brunswick, as the government of Brunswick
that year shall decide.”

The Davis Fund Committee will review the applications and recommend grant recipients to
the Brunswick Town Council, which distributes the income generated by the Davis fund.
Typical grant amounts range from $200 to $2,500. As part of the application process, a
representative from each applicant organization is required to attend a meeting with the
Committee, which this year will be scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, May6, or
Thursday, May7. Applications must be submitted to the Town Manager’s Office by Thursday,
April 23 at 4:30pm.

“It’s wonderful to serve on the Davis Fund Committee,” according to Annee Tara, who chairs
the Committee this year. “It gives us an opportunity to meet people from various
organizations whose work meets this criterion and to see the great work they are doing.
And it gives us a chance to help them meet their mission.”

Further details about the application process, including the application form and a report
listing the 2025 grant recipients, are available on the Davis Fund page of the Town of
Brunswick website (https://www.brunswickme.gov/569/Davis-Fund-Committee) or by
contacting the Town Manager’s office at 725-6659.
