WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Bowdoin baseball team opened its Florida schedule with a 6-4 setback to Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Tuesday.
The Polar Bears are 1-3 and the Blue Jays are 5-1.
Game Highlights
- The Blue Jays scored in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead on a stolen base at second that allowed the runner from third to score.
- Bowdoin found the plate in the third as Liam Foley hit a single to center that drove in Reuben Siegel.
- Saint Josephs scored a pair of runs in the fourth to make it 3-1.
- Foley pulled the Polar Bears within one, doubling to left in the fifth, and plating Will Logue. Lukas Tsai tied the game with an RBI single to right.
- A bases-loaded walk in the fifth gave the lead back to Saint Josephs and Chase Belisle hit a two-run homer in the eighth to make it 6-3.
- Logue tagged a solo shot over the left field fence in the ninth.

- Foley and Tommy O’Donnell both had multi-hit games.
- Siegel and Logue each had a stolen base.
- Sam Almy pitched 4.2 innings with four hits allowed. Almy walked and struck out five.
