Anika Ewert Named NESCAC Softball Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin senior Anika Ewert (Newport Coast, Calif.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week.

Ewert batted .636 with a .676 on-base percentage, leading the Polar Bears to eight straight wins in Florida as the team is off to its best start since the 2007 season. In addition to collecting 21 hits in the eight games, Ewert scored 18 runs, had eight RBI, and went a perfect 17-17 in stolen bases.

With 171 career hits, Ewert has moved into second place all-time at Bowdoin, passing Caroline Dewar ’12 (169).

Bowdoin is back in action on Monday afternoon with a doubleheader against UW-River Falls and SUNY Old Westbury.
