Women’s Tennis Starts Spring Break With Perfect NESCAC Weekend

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin women’s tennis team earned a pair of 6-1 conference wins over Amherst and Hamilton to begin spring break over the weekend.

The Polar Bears are 3-1 in 2026 with a perfect 2-0 conference record to start.

Amherst Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin earned the doubles point with wins at one and three. Bella Hartung and Zoe Sun finished off their opponents 6-3 at the top spot. Caroline Stuhlfaut and Naomi Williams went 6-4 at #3.
  • Stuhlfaut and Julia Ross cruised to quick victories at five and six, respectively. Stuhlfaut went 6-1, 6-1 and Ross finished 6-2, 6-1.
  • At three and four, Sun and Hartung posted nearly identical scores as well. Sun went 6-3, 6-4 and Hartung finished 6-4, 6-4.
  • Cara Hung won at the top of the lineup with a 7-5, 6-4 result.

Hamilton Match Highlights

  • The Polar Bears doubles teams swept play to open the match. Hartung and Sun posted a matching result with Hung and Suzanne Pogorelec with 6-1 finishes. Stuhlfaut and Williams went 6-3 at #3
  • Pogorelec picked up a singles point with a 6-4, 6-3 win at two.
  • Sun did not drop a game in a perfect 6-0, 6-0 at #3.
  • Ross cruised through her first set 6-0 and battled for a 7-5 win in the second at #4.
  • Willow Assante-LaBash worked her way into the lineup in the six spot and finished a three-setter (6-4, 4-6, 6-3).
  • Hung battled to a 7-6 (7-2) first set victory and then cruised 6-0 in the second to earn a point at #1.
