BRUNSWICK, Maine – Hannah Balmelli netted a hat trick to lead the Bowdoin field hockey team to a 6-0 midweek non-conference win over visiting Husson on Wednesday evening.
The nationally-ranked Polar Bears are 7-2 and drop the Eagles to 3-7.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after a pair of Balmelli goals in the first period, coming off four Polar Bear corners.
- Less than three minutes into the second period, Grayson Dolins made it 3-0 with a finish off the long feed from Maddie Mrva.
- Fei Yang-Sady finished off a Charlotte Crawford ball one minute later as the Polar Bears ended the half leading 4-0.
- The final two goals came in the third quarter from Balmelli and Elizabeth Kent. Kent buried a rebound off Yang-Sady’s initial shot on goal.
