Portland Pirates Sign Chris Rawlings to AHL Contract

Portland, Maine – Phoenix Coyotes Assistant General Manager and Portland Pirates General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the Portland Pirates have signed goaltender Chris Rawlings to an AHL deal for the 2013-14 season.


Rawlings, a 6 foot 5, 220 pound native of North Delta, BC, appeared in 1 game with the Pirates during the 2012-13 season after signing an amateur tryout contract on April 20th. Rawlings stopped 19 of 20 shots in 40 minutes during Portland’s regular season finale against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.


Rawlings spent 4 years at Northeastern University, compiling a career record of 47-55-16 in 114 games. Rawlings holds the record for career shutouts at Northeastern with 11. Rawlings made his professional debut for the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL after finishing his collegiate career appearing in 2 games for Idaho, registering a 0.60 goals against average and a 0.975 save percentage, including a shutout in his first professional start.
