BYOB-MidCoast Announces Broad Support for Styrofoam Ban, Bag Fees

Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB)-MidCoast members gathered Tuesday at the Brunswick gazebo to announce that, after more than two dozen educational presentations in the MidCoast area, they have now obtained more than 1000 signatures from local residents in support of their ordinances to limit plastic bags and Styrofoam food/beverage containers. The group has also spoken to over 70 businesses in Brunswick and raised more than $2,000 in funds to purchase reusable bags to give away to people who may find reusable bags too costly.
