The Frontier, Brunswick, Me. from 0700 to 0900

Maine Songwriters Association presents Songwriters on Stage at The Frontier in Brunswick, Maine on February 7th at 7 p.m. Songwriters on Stage is the first Wednesday of every month through May 2018. MSA provides an exceptional line up of accomplished performing musicians and The Frontier is a premier venue for music presenting an excellent experience for the audience.

For February Giff Jamison hosts and performs with; Luke Kalloch, Genevieve Beaudoin, and Tim Shannon in the intimate Café theater. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased online at or at the door.

Luke Kalloch, or ‘The Loblolly Boy, as his musical vehicle, grew up writing songs in his native state of Maine. Kalloch toured the country playing his music before settling in Austin, TX, further honing his songwriting into what came to be called ‘Bummer Folk’. Kalloch’s songs are steeped in sorrow, full of characters out of luck, complex, flawed and, sometimes, just downright miserable. Somehow, through all that, a glimmer of hope pokes through each song, leaving the listener misty eyed but wanting a little more. Hear some more from the Loblolly Boy at .

Geneviève Beaudoin: New Spine is the latest project by Portland-based singer-songwriter, Geneviève Beaudoin.  A balancing act of intimate folk melodies and alt-country appeals, Beaudoin's music sets its sights on the raw and tender. You can learn more about her work at .

Tim Shannon: “Life is a classroom and I like to write about the things I struggle with, learn and enjoy.  Musically I challenge myself to make each song sound almost entirely different than the last.  I combine acoustic guitar and "in the moment" looped rhythms to bring out the song's uniqueness.”

Giff Jamison is originally from Minnesota, now a Maine-based songwriter and performer drawing from folk, jazz and rock influences-but his roots are country blues and finger style guitar. Dreams make their way into his songs and empty prairies, slow rolling rivers, and lost travelers all find a place in his music. Giff is a 4-time finalist at the New England Songwriters Contest and a finalist in the 2017 Maine Songwriters Association Songwriting Contest. In 2013 he released Ramone, a CD of 11 self-penned songs recorded at Frog Hollow Studio in Brunswick. A new CD is being planned – mostly in his head but with more actual visits to the studio coming up. Giff performs throughout the Mid Coast as a solo artist and in the company of fellow songwriters and musicians.
