The Brunswick Rotary Club presents  “Hometown Idol”
The Brunswick Rotary Club presents "Hometown  Idol" at the Crooker Theatre, 116 Maquoit Road, in Brunswick on Saturday, April 7th  at 7 p.m.
Talented residents of Greater Brunswick are encouraged to participate. Applications are available at all of the schools, Shaw’s at Cook’s Corner and Riley Insurance, 139 Maine Street, Brunswick as well as by following the links on the Brunswick Rotary Website. Applications are due by March 24.
Awards will be presented to the top talent in the areas of vocal solo, vocal ensemble, instrumental solo, instrumental ensemble, dance and other. The age categories are Youth: 6 – 12 years old, Teen: 13 – 18 years old and Adult: 19 – 99 years old.  Winners will be determined by a panel of judges, and the audience. In addition to prizes for each category and age group, one winner will receive a cash award as well as a trophy as they are declared the “2012 Hometown Idol.”
Community members are encouraged to mark this date on their calendar to support their favorite performer as well as the Brunswick Rotary Club. Your local Rotary Club supports  community projects such as the Androscoggin River Bicycle Path and the Androscoggin Riverwalk as well as the Tedford/Merrymeeting Gift Project, the Brunswick Parks & Recreation basketlball teams, the Girl Scouts of Maine summer camp  and the “Fun and Games on the Mall” on the 4th of July. The Brunswick Rotary also participates in Mt. Ararat Interact Club, and Rotary International efforts such as curing polio, the Rotoplast Clinics and helping villages gain a clean water supply.
