Clam Bake

Growing up in Southern Massachusetts with a Portuguese heritage, one of my favorite summer meals is the New England Portuguese Clam Boil.  It brings back memories of wonderful family gatherings and many 4th of July meals.  When I moved to Maine and mentioned this meal to my new friends, no one knew what I was talking about.  Just today, I was telling my daughter’s friend that I was putting this recipe in The Cryer, and she said what most of my friends have said,  “You mean a Clam Bake, right?”  Confirmation, that I needed share this easy and very flavorful recipe with the readers of The Cryer.  I hope over the coming summer months you have a chance to try this recipe, and if you do, please write to me and let me know what you think.   Enjoy!
